Spare parts provisioning is a key factor in after-sales service. If a system (machine) breaks down, often the defective part has to be replaced, and a defective part can only be replaced if the required spare part is available.
This dissertation is devoted to spare parts inventory control for stocks needed to facilitate corrective maintenance. In spare parts inventory, large amounts of money are involved, and thus there is great interest in cost savings.
